This page describes what the site records about you, who can see it, and what you can ask for. It covers only this website.
Your account
Registration stores your name, username, email address and the groups your account belongs to. A session cookie keeps you signed in, and your language choice is remembered so pages open in the language you picked. Depending on your role you may also fill in a profile - a Panditji's qualifications and service locations, a Yajman's family and preferences, a Mentor's public biography and schedule, a Seeker's profile. What appears on a public profile is what that person chose to publish there.
Booking a Puja
A booking records the date and time you asked for, the purpose, the number of people, your preferred language, whether Samagri is needed, and the venue address. This is shared with the Panditji you are booking, because they need it to attend. Notes either side adds to the booking, and a cancellation reason, are kept with it.
Birth details and Jyotish
Birth details are the most sensitive thing this site handles, and they are treated accordingly. The birth payload is stored encrypted rather than in plain text. A report generated without an account expires and is then deleted automatically, together with its calculation snapshot and results, by a scheduled clean-up task. If you keep a report in your account, it stays until you remove it or close your account.
An expert review of your chart happens only with your explicit consent, recorded with a scope and an expiry. You may withdraw that consent, and it also lapses on its own; in either case the open request is closed as consent-revoked. Records of when a reminder was delivered are removed after one year.
Documents you upload
Verification documents supplied with a Panditji or Mentor application, and evidence files attached to a family record, are stored outside the public web area under generated file names. They have no public web address of their own: every download passes through a permission check first, so a copied link stops working for anyone who is not entitled to it. The original file name, type, size and a checksum are stored so the reviewer can recognise the file.
Adhyatma Samvad
A Vani is published either publicly or only to the Mentor's Seeker Circle, and its media files are served through the same permission check as the post. When you ask a question on a Vani, your question, your account and the Mentor's answer are shown with that Vani to the same audience. A guidance request carries the message you wrote, the Mentor's reply and suggested next steps; administrators can also record an internal note that is not shown to you.
Vamshavali
Each person in the family record is marked public, family-only or private, and that is the record's own setting - a private note about a public ancestor stays private. On top of that, a living member's exact date of birth, address and private notes are withheld from anyone without family access, and a member whose living status is unknown is protected the same way.
Being signed in is not family access. It is a permission granted to a specific group by the record keeper. Someone without it sees exactly what a visitor who never signed in would see. Restricted people are left out of listings, searches and the family tree entirely rather than being shown as hidden, so their existence is not disclosed indirectly.
The "Notify Me" form
The form in the footer band opens a message in your own email program addressed to the site. Nothing you type there is stored on this website.
Cookies
The site sets a session cookie so that signing in works, and remembers your language choice. If your browser blocks cookies, signing in will not work.
Who else sees your information
Information reaches other people only where the service requires it: a booking reaches the Panditji you booked, a question reaches the Mentor it was addressed to, a family-only record reaches those given family access. Administrators can see the records they manage. Your information is not sold.
What you can ask for
You may ask for a copy of the information held about you, ask for corrections, or ask for your account and its data to be removed. On removal, guidance profiles are anonymised - the stored birth payload is discarded and the profile detached from you - and any review consents are revoked. Some records that others also rely on, such as a completed booking, may be kept in a form that no longer identifies you.
